As I write this, the Mama is munching on one of my dog treats.
Frankly, I’m not impressed. Those belong to me (and possibly the Felix), but they sure as WOOF aren’t for the humans in this house. You humans have a plethora of your own treats and if you don’t like what you’ve got, you can just waltz into grocery store and pick something else. There is no need to be stealing from the dog! Be forewarned, Mama, I am keeping this little indiscretion tucked up in my tail. Just you wait until this Friday when we host Human Shaming: a Tongue in Cheek blog hop.
Do you think stealing snacks from innocent puggle is shameful Mama. DO YOU?!?
Between you, me and the fire hydrant (which I just pee’d on), I can’t say I blame her. These Banana Berry Muffins she made yesterday are rather tasty. As an added bonus, they’re 100% grain-free. We’ve used the yummy goodness of coconut flour instead.
In fact, Mama isn’t the only Casa de Kolchak human I’ve caught snacking on them.
I’ve caught the Daddy and the Nana too. To be fair, I don’t think the Nana realized they were dog treats. So there is that. Everyone else around here knew those treat were MINE and they gobbled them down anyways. Rude as woof, I tell ya!
I’m going to try that. I’m going to waltz right up to the Mama’s dinner plate and take a big slurp. We’ll see what she thinks then, eh?
I’ll do it too. Just as soon as I build up the courage. That Mama is a force to be reckoned with. You don’t want to poke the bear without adequate preparation first.
In the meantime, I think I’ll settle for badgering her into making another bath of muffins.
PrintTasty Tuesday: Grain-free Banana Berry Muffins for Pups & Peeps
- 2 ripe bananas
- 3 eggs (or 3 tbsp. flax meal egg replacer)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. coconut milk
- 1/4 c. honey
- 4 tbsp. coconut oil, melted
- 1/2 c. coconut flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. frozen blueberries

Mash bananas until they have a smooth texture. Whisk in eggs, vanilla, coconut milk, honey & coconut oil. Mix in coconut flour, cinnamon and baking powder. Mix until well combined. Stir in frozen berries.
Spoon into cupcake liners and bake for 15-25 minutes. (Try not to cook them to a crispin like the Mama did, eh?).
Cool and serve.
