As much as I tried to fight it, it’s definitely Fall at Casa de Kolchak.
All the signs are here: rusty coloured trees, crunchy leaves and a definite chill to the air. It even smells like Autumn out there. Something about accepting that it’s fall just makes me want to curl up with my pups, a tasty pumpkin spice latte and a good book.
As some of you noticed last week, there is something odd going on in the Casa de Kolchak living room:
Outdoor Dog Bed by P.L.A.Y. <- Get it on Amazon (affiliate link)
Yeah, you’re seeing that right, Koly has brought our fabulous outdoor dog bed inside.
We’ve had a lot of dog beds at Casa de Kolchak over the years, but ever since our move last fall, Koly and Fe have been using a pair of hot pink floor cushions that I’ve had for over a decade. They graced my first apartment and they have this ridiculous sense of nostalgia attached to them. I’ve totally thought they were getting the job done, after all, both dogs lay on them, but when Koly started whining at the door to go lay on the deck, even when it was chilly out, I realized that maybe my dogs don’t like them as much as I do.
Look at Kol’s face. I feel like he’s threatening to shiv me.
Over the years, the fabric has become pretty worn and shabby, the cushions have broken down giving them this wobbly, misshapen appearance and oh holy woof, are they ever getting grubby. You guys, dog beds need to have removable, washable covers. That’s like dog bed 101. :/ I’m fussy as heck though, so while I’m on the quest for the perfect dog beds to replace these, I just might break down and make a couple of these super cozy looking DIY Dog Beds. Besides, I’m kind of in love with the idea of having a few dog beds that we bring out seasonally!
